I often suffer from aches and pains associated with advancing age or with foolish things I’ve done to myself. I have a healing technique that I have used for several years that works for me most of the time. Here’s how it goes: Say I have stubbed my toe walking around the apartment in the dark. You might say, “Why are you walking around in the dark in the first place?” But that would be a different story. The pain is intense and it’s like all the lights go on at once. I, of course, sit down somewhere and nurse my wound. Here is where the healing technique comes in. Instead of concentrating on the pain in my toe, I scan the rest of my body, which is working more or less perfectly. In fact, the ratio of “good” to “bad” is astronomical—99.999… % So I choose to concentrate on the good parts.
I send out an all-points call to those “good parts”: “Hey, everyone, the left big toe is injured—all you guys send some healing energy its way. After all, we are in this body together and it is in everyone’s best interest to have a functioning big toe.” I take some time to allow all the good parts to send their energy, and what do you know, the pain diminishes. I make a mental note to “call out the troops” to send a follow-up every few hours, and, before I know it, the big toe is healed.
Fortunately, I haven’t had really major, life-threatening injuries to deal with, so I don’t know how the technique will work then. But I would guess that even in cases of major illness the ratio of “good” to “bad” is pretty good. I’ll try to remember to report when I have had a major test of this technique—hopefully years from now!
I realize that this technique is so simple that it is easy to discount it, but I invite you to give it a try and let me know how it works for you. Elyn gave it a try a few days ago when she had a painful recurrent shoulder muscle spasm. Much to her surprise, it seemed to help. Maybe concentrating on all the “good” parts that were functioning well enabled her to relax her muscles and that helped release the spasm.
I am in the early testing phase of this technique so I don’t have budget for a clinical trial. Also, there is no money to be made from the sale of the technique so it doesn't have much value to a capitalist society. It’s just my silly little technique.
So, now we come to the title of this piece. You may have wondered what that was about. So, boys and girls, let’s get ready to sing. Altogether now: (CLICK BELOW)
